Privacy Policy — dpedavis.com

Version 1.0 — Effective October 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information dpedavis.com (the "Site") collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by Ryan A. Davis, 2100 East Panorama Drive, Unit 210, Signal Hill, CA 90755 (the "Operator," "we," or "us").

If you have questions about this policy or your information, contact us at pilot.ryan.davis@gmail.com.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account as a student, instructor, or checkride applicant, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed (scrambled) form — we never store your password in readable text.

Checkride application information. If you apply for a checkride, we collect the answers you submit, which may include the certificate or rating you are seeking, your FAA Flight Training Number (FTN), your IACRA application ID, requested checkride dates, and information about the aircraft you will use.

Uploaded documents and photos. You may upload documents and images, including logbook pages, pilot endorsements, airman knowledge test reports, and aircraft maintenance records. These uploads are part of your application or eligibility review.

Eligibility workups. If you use the Site's eligibility review features, we store the resulting workups and findings connected to your record.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number and payment details go directly to Stripe and never touch or are stored on our servers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details (such as the amount and the last digits of a card) from Stripe.

Automatic information. Like most websites, the Site may collect basic technical information when you visit, such as your browser type, device information, and IP address, used to operate and secure the Site.

Cookies. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to keep the Site secure. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Email open tracking. Emails sent from this Site may include a small invisible tracking pixel. When you open such an email, the pixel records that the message was opened, the time of the open, and basic technical information sent by your email program (such as IP address and device type). This is used only to confirm delivery of checkride-related communications.

3. AI Processing of Uploaded Documents

Eligibility reviews on this Site are assisted by an automated review process that uses an artificial intelligence service provided by Anthropic (the Claude AI service). When you submit documents for an eligibility review, your uploaded documents and application information are transmitted to Anthropic's systems so the review can be performed. Anthropic processes this information as our service provider under its commercial terms, which do not permit it to use your information to train its AI models. The output of that process is reviewed by the Operator before your eligibility workup is finalized. By submitting documents for an eligibility review, you understand and agree to this processing.

4. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never will.

We share information only with the service providers ("processors") that make the Site work:

These providers receive only the information needed to perform their function.

FAA. The Operator is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner. Checkride application and practical test records are provided to the FAA as required for administering practical tests and as required by FAA regulations and orders.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Operator or others.

Your recommending instructor may be able to view information in your application when you are connected with that instructor through the Site, as part of administering your checkride.

5. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including:

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach of security involving your personal information, we will notify affected California residents as required by California law (Civil Code § 1798.82).

6. Retention and Deletion

We keep accounts, applications, uploaded documents, and related records for business and regulatory purposes — for example, to document checkride administration and to respond to later inquiries about a record. Some records must be retained and cannot be deleted.

You may request deletion of your information by emailing pilot.ryan.davis@gmail.com. We will honor deletion requests except where a record must be retained for legal, regulatory, or legitimate business record-keeping purposes; we will tell you if an exception applies to your request.

7. Your Rights

You may contact us at pilot.ryan.davis@gmail.com to:

We will respond to requests within a reasonable time. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes.

8. Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to these signals, the Site does not currently change its behavior in response to them. The Site does not track you across other websites over time, and we do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities across other websites through the Site.

9. Minors

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. Some users are pilot applicants who are 17 years old; if you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's involvement in creating your account and submitting an application.

California users under 18. If you are under 18 and a registered user, you may request removal of content or information you have posted to the Site by emailing pilot.ryan.davis@gmail.com. Removal from the Site does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of that content, and records we are required by law or FAA regulations to keep cannot be removed.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will post the updated version on the Site and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy. We will not use information we collected before a change in a materially different way without your consent.
